Saturday

goodbye rexburg, hello virginia

our little family of three has moved to virginia... although you probably already know that.
a couple months ago jon and i were sitting in our morbidly hot apartment talking about the semester ahead for him at idaho state university. he was to start the law enforcement program in just 3 short weeks and we were just trying to sort out the last details. i couldn't shake this un-settling feeling. not like something terrible was going to happen but unsure about the drastic change that was going to occur.  i was also enrolled at the paul mitchell academy to start a few weeks after he did. i would be going to school nights and he would be days. so, we kept talking. we both felt like we were headed in the wrong direction, even though it seemed like the perfect plan. then out of no where, jon said... "we should move". and that's when it all began. it sounded so crazy but felt so right. we prayed, went to the temple and decided that our family needed to be in virginia for the next little while.

jon is working nights at pumonkey regional jail and applying at different police departments. i am staying home with my little man and taking a photography class next semester.

i never thoguht i would miss rexburg but i do! i miss my beautiful nightly run to the temple and the awesome sunset on the way back. i miss g's dairy and their deliciousness. i miss the safe, small town feel. but most of all i miss all our awesome friends! you know who you are! rexburg will always have a special place in my heart.

i am looking forward to the time we have in virginia and already love it so much!

one thing i have learned is that life never goes as planned. and that is the best thing about it! life is so unpredictable and i love it!

on another note... my baby is 11 months old today...only one more month before he is big! sniff sniff
p.s. i can't handle this cuteness anymore!

Friday

as of late.....

we are moving! me, being so busy packing up the house forgot to take 7 month pictures of my little dude. packed the blanket i usually take them on and all. so here is a nontraditional 7 month picture of my little guy.

he is showing you his pearly whites to distract you from his awesome bed head.

at 7 months wyatt:
is crawling with his belly off the floor!
is eating everything in sight
(caught him putting the toilet bowl brush in his mouth the other day ick ick ICK!)
is pulling himself up
says mam, da, and nehhh (yes like a horse)...
sometimes i think he is saying things with intention but he his probably just babble-ing on

when i was checking out at wal mart the other day, the man behind me said
"excuse me mam, but your baby smiles too much"
it pretty much made my day. and he is right!
you can count on smiles from waytt :)

if he could climb these boxes, he totally would

in other news... i graduated a couple weeks ago!

so i only graduated with my Associates degree, but when you have an excuse to party... why not party. so that is what we did. we went to dinner with some friends.... graduated and then came back home for ice cream cake and games... because we are that cool.
i have been taking college classes for 5 years now (including running start) so it's about time right?
i have 83 credits and one of the bachleors degrees on camps is only 73 credits
if they made a "random" bachelors degree, i would be the first to graduate!
like i said... i just needed an excuse to party :)

Tuesday

toothless no more

it's hard to tell but on the bottom left... our little man has a tooth!

it came sometime last week and has been accompanied by a lot of this.....

snuggles and naps...which i am totally ok with
poor little dude! the 2nd one should show its face soon enough.
this was for the grandmas :)

Monday

our divine creator

i am in a science class this semester. it is a foundations class that discusses all of the scientific theories of how the world became. being a religious person, this class is fascinating but contradictory.  during discussions, i find my mind in a whirl wind. "if this is so, than this cannot be true. and if this is true than that cannot be so."
it comes down to this: there is so much information and knowledge out there. we cannot know it all. that is why science is always making changes,  new discoveries and has multiple explanations for one event. i believe that religion and science is one and that God gave us science to help explain things. i believe in God and accept both the evolution and big bang theories.
there is so much to know and understand about the universe that it is mind boggling. i also believe that one day we will know the truth of all things.

here is an awesome short video i found about a scientist that shares the same thoughts as i.
(you might have to make it full screen to see the whole picture)

Thursday

would anybody like some frozen blueberries? they are super yummy, feel great on the gums and really fun to play with!

this summer has been awesome! filled with all sorts of fun to the splash pad, rexburg rapids, walks to the park, barbeques, the farmers market and so much more! it it just too hot to stay in our apartment with no AC. here are a couple pictures from a walk to the park and a bath to cool the boy down. he loves him some tub time. and i love me some baby hiney! enjoy.
